Hey everyone. This is Sophie. I know some people who have been in touch with me have been hoping for an update but I wanted to wait until things were a bit more clear. Sorry to do this here of all places but it’s where I know people will see it.
On January 26th at approximately 2:30 am, my brother, Nick Reynolds, voluntarily presented himself at the Violet Town Police Station in relation to offences involving intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to my best friend Isla Thomson, and evading police apprehension.
He had been staying in Violet Town roughly since Cat injured him in self defense. It turns out, New World Strategies had a safe house up that way that had belonged to Wesley Jones. In the 2000s, this is where Wesley Jones sent his wife, Eleanor Jones, to live in isolation. It’s unknown how much contact she had with the outside world, but there’s evidence she was heavily monitored while the cult was still active, and she was not aware of their shutting down.
It’s not exactly understood what relationship her and Nick had, but the available evidence suggests his cover was that he was sent there by the cult to keep an eye on her. My personal theory is that they shipped him out into the country to hide him when they knew the feds were about to make a move and raid the facility. I'm sure they provided him with his falsified documents as well.
Then he just stayed up there. Got a job. Avoided detection for a long time under the name Glenn Waltz - incidentally the same name as a disappeared former NWS colleague of his. But as anyone who knew him knows, Nick isn’t the kind of person who could stay quiet for long.
Eleanor is still with us and I understand she’s not the sharpest at 75. I don’t know what she does or doesn’t know about what happened to her family. I don’t know if that’s something she can handle in her state. She seemed to have been looked after. I understand that when she spoke to police that she only had nice things to say about the boy who lived upstairs. So I don’t know. Maybe she got to know a side of him I didn’t.
Her eldest child, Wesley Jr, didn’t know she was still alive until the last few days. We spoke briefly. He’s making arrangements to move her into aged care. He was told ahead of time to be prepared for the worst but she still remembered him. He was pretty ecstatic despite it all.
So, yeah, **** me. It’s an emotional day for myself and the rest of our family, and for so many others he affected. And obviously, for the Jones’ family as well. God, isn’t it amazing how much pain one man can cause? It’s like infinite ripples in a pond. And those ripples won’t stop just because he’s finally facing consequences. We still have to live with it, forever. All of us. But it does make it a bit easier.
So given that it looks like this is official, it’s best that I don’t comment much further. But it looks like justice is finally going to be served. In a weird way, I’m glad this all happened. Maybe that’s what the person who uploaded all those videos was trying to do. By revealing the horror of it all, they showed everyone the truth. So thank you to them, and to everyone that helped us get here. It means the world.
